for a Electrical Estimator to join their growing team.
Responsibilities for this position:
Estimates
- Ensure timely preparation of estimates
- Ensure accurate take offs through comparative analysis
- Ensure accurate costing through cross checking
- Provide first principles estimates for works
- Ensure that all tender files are arranged in standard format and maintained until handed over at award or archived
- Obtain documented quotations
- Record all meetings with prospective suppliers/Customers
- Implement Company Quality System Tendering procedures
- Timely completion of the relevant sections of the Tender submission documents
Reviews
- Ensure all appropriate tender documentation is complete and made available to the concerned personnel in a timely manner.
- Attend internal estimate review meetings with the appropriate management
Estimate Handover
- Prepare relevant project handover documentation in accordance with the company procedure.
- Attend estimate handover meetings with the appropriate management and delivery teams
Safety
- Ensures own health and safety does not adversely affect the health and safety of any other person
- Actively promotes where applicable safety principals
- To walk the site and observe the attitude to safety
- Complies with HSSE systems and policies and procedures
- Complies with requirements for injury Management and/or Rehabilitation
Administrative Procedures
- Assist in the preparation of statistics or follow up of Tenders as required
- Other general related duties as may from time to time be required
Required qualifications:
Knowledge and Experience
- 5+ years hands on (first principle) construction and installation estimating, including material quantity take-off, enquiry initiation, materials / supplier evaluation and selection, subcontractor evaluation and selection, estimation of man hours for the installation of electrical equipment and systems including cables, terminations, equipment, etc in any of the following industries, power, water and wastewater, oil and gas, process plants or other heavy industrial environment.
- Appropriate trade or tertiary education in electrical engineering and/or construction
- Minimum of 5 years experience electrical construction environment
- Preference for experience in the Power and/or Water and wastewater sectors
- Minimum 5 years proven first principles estimating experience
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Desirable Qualifications
- Engineering diploma or degree and/or quantity surveying experience
- Logical methodical approach to given tasks
- Experience in complicated spreadsheets and or proprietary estimating systems
Approximately $85,000 per annum with a comprehensive benefits package
