The Opportunity

Junior Accounting opportunity on the South Side of Edmonton for an upbeat professional individual seeking a long term fit with a family type organization. If you have at least one year of customer service and accounting experience we’d like to hear from you. Please note a sense of humor, team approach and a strong work ethic are a must. Also this is an immediate need.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

This position is responsible for issuing customers’ bills and processing payments to the appropriate accounts according to established policies and procedures. Also, the incumbent is responsible for opening customer accounts and supporting with reception duties when required.

  • Process received payments, photocopying cheques, preparing bank deposits, processing credit card payments, preparing and entering cash applications.
  • Prepare and process customer credit applications.
  • Process customer orders to generate customer invoices.
  • Manage flow of phone calls associated with the accounts receivable inquiries.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and standards (written or implied), and any changes or modifications which may vary from time to time as deemed appropriate.
  • Provide assistance to Reception as required.
  • Respond to customers e-mails promptly regarding invoice and statement copies and any other customer related issues.
  • Reconcile cash sales on a daily basis, balancing the cash sales, and preparing the cash for deposit.
  • Prepare and record accounts receivable journal entries.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Accounting diploma or certificate
  • Minimum 1 year experience required
  • Accounting experience required
  • Customer service experience required
  • Strong, resilient work ethic
  • Detail oriented
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation and Benefits

  • $18 -20 hour with comprehensive benefits package.
