Benefits Administrator – Immediate start

The Opportunity

My client is immediately looking for a Benefits Administrator to assist the payroll team in their Richmond. The contract is on offer for 2-3 months with the possibility of extension. The role is to report to the Payroll &Benefits Manager and is responsible for current and retired employee benefits. You must have excellent knowledge of the MSP and Benefit/Pension programs as well as advanced excel skills, especially using V-Lookup. My client is looking for an immediate start so if you meet the below criteria please apply ASAP!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Ensure accurate handling and processing of employee enrolments, terminations, changes, etc. for all company benefit and pension programs
  • Communicates with employees on benefit coverage changes, outstanding paperwork and ongoing requirements
  • Conducts benefits costing and utilization analysis
  • Develop communication material and promote benefit plan to employees
  • Prepare payments for monthly retiree benefits
  • Reconcile and process T4A’s for retiree payments and or benefits

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience managing benefit programs, preferably in unionized environments.
  • Knowledge of legislation as it pertains to benefits and pension programs
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word – experience using V-Lookup is a must!
  • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to be flexible, confident and self-motivated

Compensation and Benefits

  • $20-23/hour
