The Opportunity


Reporting to the Director of Fund Development, responsibilities include:


Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Executes fundraising initiatives including producing/updating communications, marketing and promotional materials, cases for support and engagement using various social media platforms.
  • Maintains and coordinates new and signature fundraisers and special events.
  • Organize/execute details related to events including program planning and logistics, publicity (write content and take photographs), registrations/invitations, answer queries, recruitment, and direct volunteers, when necessary.
  • Collaborate and communicate with other departments in the planning and hosting of events.
  • Organizes overall event and fundraising data to ensure accurate records are maintained in the database.
  • Assists in preparation of annual operating budget in collaboration with the Director.
  • Assists in writing policies and procedures for the Fund Development department including safety and quality assurance.
  • Assist with identifying sponsorship opportunities, building relationships with targeted community groups and assist the Director, Fund Development in cultivating and soliciting a portfolio of annual giving, event prospects, sponsors and donors.
  • Support, solicit and steward activities for all donations (including donations for silent auction), by coordinating new donor packages, thank you calls, producing donor receipts, pick-up of donations, and other related duties.
  • Research and complete grant and donor applications.
  • Actively participates in departmental senior management/leadership team. Takes minutes/notes when required.
  • Serve on internal communications committees (employee Newsletter, etc.); maintain website and social media (Facebook, LinkedIn) platforms.
  • Organize, monitor and document communication work processes.
  • Responsible for written material to donors, suppliers, families, staff, residents and others involved with the organization to inform them of activities and upcoming events.
  • Actively participates in department and facility meetings and in-services.
  • Attend relevant and/or mandatory workshops, in services, seminars and conferences, as approved and apply learning in the workplace.
  • Demonstrate commitment to learning new skills, methods and ideas, and to broaden experience through work on projects and committees.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in Public Relations, Event Management, Communications, preferred. Equivalent education and experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three to five years’ progressive experience in event planning with extensive experience in special events and community fundraising goal setting and execution.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency in using Microsoft applications– Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher.
  • Experience using donor software as asset.
  • Strong evidence of community and relationship/partnership development.
  • Strong organization and project management skills with an ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and thrive in a dynamic and complex environment.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence, demonstrating compassion in supporting all stakeholders.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Energetic, highly motivated, demonstrating leadership and relationship management skills
  • Driver’s License with clear Driver’s Abstract and access to vehicle.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range for this position is $50,000-$55,000 per year. A comprehensive benefits package will be also be provided.
