Desktop support needed immediately for perm position based on the west end!

The Opportunity

Our reputable and growing client has an immediate need for an energetic, customer service motivated desktop support analyst. The successful candidate will build excellent relationships with end users by taking time to understand their needs and keeping them updated throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process. We are looking for someone who truly enjoys values and is motivated by how computer systems and its peripherals are the backbone to business. This individual is skilled at bridging the gap of technical talk to employees with varying technical understanding.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • As the first point of contact for all end user issues build strong relationships by thorough and empathetic end to end support.
  • Provide tier 1 and 2 support efforts on issues such as passwords resets, application and hardware break-fixes, to procuring standard and specific hardware requirements.
  • Gather and relay support requirements to remote support team as necessary.
  • Respond to, and prioritize walk in requests, as well as escalated requests from service desk.
  • Assist with support on computer peripherals including work mobile devices and landline phone systems.
  • Implement and maintain VPN networks for remote site offices (including site to site).
  • Documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of related post secondary education.
  • 2 – 4 years experience in IT Support role involving direct interactions with end users.
  • Experience support tier 1 and 2 needs for hardware, software, computer peripherals; basic server and network.
  • Superior communication skills (Written and verbal) with proven ability to professionally and meaningful communicate “tech talk” to an array of technical aptitude and ability to link technical needs to business requirements.
  • Completed or in progress MS certifications. CCNA and VMWare certs are an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Up to $50,000 depending on experience.
