Are you a hands-on Estimator with manufacturing or commercial construction experience and strong skills with estimating software?
Our client is looking for an Estimator who can really bring their manufacturing estimates into focus. Joining an established team, the Estimator will act as an effective liaison between multiple stakeholders, utilizing concepts of continuous improvement and using their expertise to assist the team in meeting established business goals.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions Responsible for preparing engineering, architectural, structural, electrical and mechanical cost estimates for construction projects. Prepare cost estimates of materials, labor and equipment for construction projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings and specifications. Collect data required to produce estimates for new construction projects, including research of materials and pricing, estimating equipment values, timelines and transportation. Conduct needs analysis and generate innovate solutions to meet client needs. Consolidate input from all project stakeholders to ensure bid requirements are met or exceeded. Support Company engineers, architects, owners, contractors and project managers with specifications, cost estimates and adjustments. Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. Build and maintain an estimating databank.
Required Skills and Qualifications Post-secondary education in a related field (Construction Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Engineering Design and Drafting Technology). Certification in engineering design and drafting technology an asset. Possession of a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license. Knowledge and skills in MS Windows, MS Office Revved and AutoCAD. Experience with ICE is considered a strong asset. 10 + years directly related experience or combination of education and experience. 5 + years’ experience in commercial or modular construction estimating. Must be able to travel periodically.
