Manager – Financial Reporting
Executrade is happy to support our large Client who has their Head Office based in Edmonton identify a strong addition to lead their Shared Financial Services Department. The incumbent will need to bring an exceptional track record in a ‘shared services environment’ and preferably from within a publicly traded organization. This individual will effectively manage, streamline, and optimize processes across various lines of services from within the global corporate umbrella. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements) in accordance with IFRS, including the preparation of consolidation entries and financial statement disclosure.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Board and Executive reporting packages.
  • Review monthly business unit financial statements, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and foreign exchange calculations.
  • Coordinate the month end close process and lead the business unit accounting teams to improve the close process.
  • Co-ordinate year end and statutory audits including the completion of all related audit documentation, coordinating with external auditors and liaise with business units to ensure statements and schedules are available for the auditors as per agreed timetable and timely resolution of audit queries.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual corporate tax filings for domestic and international locations.
  • Prepare quarterly income tax provisions.
  • Coordinate annual testing over internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare the consolidated annual budget and quarterly rolling forecasts and capital budget, and monitor results against plan.
  • Assist with administration of the external debt program.
  • Assist with special projects as required in support of finance initiatives.
  • KPI reporting, cashflow forecast and bank covenant compliance.
  • Foreign currency risk analysis.
  • Ensure internal and external reporting timelines are maintained and deadlines met.
  • Keep up to date on new developments within the company and industry, and conduct research for technical accounting issues.
  • Interact with management, other departments and various external parties providing information as required.


Qualifications:

    • University degree with completion of a professional accounting designation (CPA designation).
    • Minimum 4 years of related experience, public practice experience of preference, or public company experience preferred.
    • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS.
    • Self-motivated with proven time management abilities and attention to details.
    • Ability to work independently and take accountability and ownership of duties.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, problem solving abilities and relatable with professionals at all levels of the organization.
    • Positive energy, initiative and flexibility spearheading opportunities to improve efficiencies while working to provide innovative and creative solutions.


Compensation and Benefits:

  • 90-100K with a comprehensive benefits plan and three weeks vacation.
