Our client is looking to fill a key role in their organization! If you are a Structural Engineering Manager with 10 -15 years of leadership and project services experience in the Oil and Gas, Buildings, or Industrial Plant industry, then this is the position for you!


The Opportunity


Our client is seeking a
Structural EngineeringManager for their Edmonton or Calgary operations.The Manager of the Structural Engineering division will be responsible for identifying, managing, and executing projects.


Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Identify and pursue new clientele and markets.
  • Develop and maintain contacts and relationships with key clients.
  • Manage a team of six, including: technologist, draftspersons, and engineers.
  • Provide technical knowledge on client-specific projects.
  • Lead preparation and creation of proposals and technical reports.
  • Implement cost control strategies.
  • Oversee and review designs in accordance with the project specifications and cost estimate.
  • Review vendors’ or subcontractors’ drawings, quotations, and technical specifications.
  • Create civil/structural design by establishing design criteria and implementing the project specifications, along with design calculations.
  • Obtain and analyze data and design, modify structures, or resolve any problems with the design.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of related design experience in the Oil and Gas industry & Buildings.
  • 10 – 15 years of experience in project services and leadership.
  • University Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • P. Eng; registered with APEGA.
  • EPCM experience preferred.
  • Experience with field/site work is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Advance design or equivalent.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office.
  • Travel is required.
