1 year Contract for a Part-Time Accountant 2 days a week!

The Opportunity
Our client, in SE Calgary is looking for a Part-Time Accountant to join their team 2 days a week. This role will report directly into the controller and will support with various accounting related duties in a professional and timely manner!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Assists in monthly accounting close processes, prepare journal entries and input data into the JD Edwards (JDE) accounting system.
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Set up budgets, job cost phases, inventory in JDE.
  • Assist external auditors in the performance of interim and year-end financial audits.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting to support operations.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Potential candidate should possess a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in an accounting function.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
  • A strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet financial reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to work equally well independently or as a team member.
  • Excellent organization, analytical, prioritizing and problem solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience working with ERP Systems, ideally with JDE Edwards.
  • Previous experience in the real estate industry would be preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Varied depending on candidate experience.
