Payroll Administrator role in SE Calgary!

The Opportunity

Our client in SE Calgary is looking for a payroll individual to perform payroll processing, data management, and various clerical tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Enter time sheets into JD Edwards while ensuring hours are categorized and allocated to correct cost centers.
  • Process weekly payroll for all salaried, hourly employees and union employees.
  • Ensure all wage changes are made accurately and in time for effected pay periods.
  • Review timesheets and work hours for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure accurate processing of sick pay and vacation payouts.
  • Review and reconcile weekly payroll for accuracy and completeness.
  • Process bonus payments as required.
  • Respond to employee and government agency inquires in regards to payroll.
  • Compile payroll data such as garnishments, vacation time, benefits and deductions.
  • Create, maintain and update employee profiles as information is received.
  • Verify accurate benefit enrollments and de-enrollments made by HR
  • Reconcile all benefits and deductions on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Create Cheque Requisitions to ensure that all payroll related invoices are paid on-time.
  • Verify accurate benefit enrollments and de-enrollments made by HR, override JD Edwards as necessary.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Canadian Payroll Association Certificate an asset (PCP or CPM)
  • Experience with JDE payroll system, PeopleSoft or Oracle an asset.
  • Computer literacy in MS Office (Advanced Excel an asset)
  • Minimum 3 years of unionized payroll an asset
