The Opportunity

My client is looking for a Strong Production Manager for their Corporate Office in Edmonton. The production manager will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the warehouse and production of the commercial kitchen.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Proactively seek out, obtain, and evaluate upcoming business needs to accurately plan and execute orders according to fluctuating business needs.
  • Implement strategic plans to create efficiencies in processes, plans, and finances.
  • Hire, train, and manage 20+ and production line employees, shippers and receivers, and administrative staff.
  • Run the day-to-day operation of the commercial kitchen and warehouse.
  • Create and implement production schedules.
  • Organize food delivery events for the food truck.
  • Conduct the ordering and manage the inventory cycle within the warehouse.
  • Supervise the cooking and assembly of food products.
  • Perform quality checks and audits on processes, equipment, products, and people.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings, safety moments, and work assignments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ year’s experience in a production facility.
  • 1+ years’ experience managing a production facility.
  • Food Safety certification valid in the province of Alberta for the duration of your employment is mandatory.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field preferred. Economics courses would be considered an asset.
  • HACCP Manager training preferred.
  • Experience with CFIA or ISO certified workplace is preferred.
  • Advanced Food Safety certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing a warehouse is preferred.
  • Experience operating a food truck is preferred.
  • Catering and BEOs experience is preferred.
  • Forklift train the trainer preferred.
  • Forklift certification required.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs is strongly preferred
  • Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract is required throughout the duration of employment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary is dependent on experience.
