Our client is seeking a strong construction project manager for their Edmonton-based operations!

The Opportunity

Our busy client is seeking a strong project manager to add to their team! The project manager will manage the detailed design process and provide leadership to multiple construction projects from cradle to grave.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Manage the design process of assigned projects:
    • Participate in design meetings to coordinate building and development permit drawings and contract administration.
    • Conduct technical review of drawings.
    • Obtain project pricing proposals from consultant(s).
    • Provide all tenant information to the consultants.
    • Manage consultant schedules, budgets, and change orders.
    • Deliver accurate project updates.
    • Follow-up with consultants to ensure that the project is completed on time and on budget.
  • Manage the construction process of projects:
    • Manage the project budget and change order process.
    • Attend construction meetings.
    • Manage construction schedules and provide project updates.
    • Follow up with general contractors and sub-contractors to ensure all projects are completed on time and on budget.
    • Conduct a detailed review and approval of progress payments.
  • Provide tenant coordination during construction and pre-opening phase.
  • Ensure tenant turnover is on time and on budget.
  • Construction analysis for collaboration with leasing and design.
  • Review, summarizes, and recommends awards for construction tenders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 2 – 5 years’ experience in construction/ contract management.
  • 7 – 10 years’ construction industry experience; commercial retail would be considered an asset.
  • Architectural Technology degree or diploma would be considered an asset.
  • Solid experience with construction administration would be considered an asset.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary is dependent on experience.
