6 month Contract for a Recruiter – Talent Acquisition Specialist!

The Opportunity
Our client in NE Calgary is looking for a Recruiter – Talent Acquisition Specialist with experience recruiting in trades and field service! The Recruiter will play a key role in building a qualified pool of candidates and will act as a talent scout, by being actively engaged in recruitment activities. The Recruiter will also be responsible for building the employment brand in the marketplace using both traditional and innovative strategies.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Conduct telephone and in-person interviews with candidates.
  • Negotiate compensation in conjunction with the HR Business Partners and hiring managers.
  • Develop solid relationships and coordinate the process between candidates, hiring managers and HR Business Partners through the recruiting cycle.
  • Support and maintain recruitment process and systems; work within and update our Applicant Tracking System.
  • Ensure all recruitment activities performed are fully compliant with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Execute full life cycle recruitment process, which includes; candidate sourcing, job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checking, and offer management.
  • Recruit and manage multiple position requirements, across a wide variety of disciplines paying particular attention to trades and field service positions.
  • Source high quality candidates using both traditional and innovative strategies and tools including social media, website postings, networking, advertising, employee referrals, career fairs and database mining.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience recruiting trades/field service roles.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with business leaders, while gaining insight into the daily operations and needs of the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organizational and recruitment execution skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using social media tools for recruitment including Applicant Tracking software
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Up to 5% travel or as required.
