The Opportunity

One of Canada’s Leaders in Sales of Bulk Handling and Material Processing Equipment, has a great opportunity for a high energy, results focused Sales Professional. You can be based in either Calgary or Edmonton covering Alberta. You will have sold specialized process equipment and solutions for powders and bulk solids to industries that include: Primary Metals, Mining, Grain Processing, Bio-mass, Feed Milling, Chemical, Plastics, Food Processing and Recycling. You will be working for an empowering president that does not believe in micro-management. You will be part of a well established, very successful sales team, that are each encouraged to be the CEO’s of their territories. You will be proud to represent many exclusive lines and brands, which are technically well received with a product line breadth needed to serve your clients .They take great pride in having a very close working relationship with their suppliers as well as their clients. You will be working with a culture that is positive, supportive and because of the diverse industry base, less affected by the economic swings. You will be working out of a home but with strong application and quote support.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Identify market potential and project opportunities
  • Develop and deepen rapport, credibility and trust with EPCs and end user in: Metals, Mining, Grain Processing, Bio-mass, Feed Milling, Chemical, Plastics, Food Processing and Recycling
  • Explain features, benefits, capabilities and applications of product line
  • Develop and manage pricing strategies, with a focus on margins and relationship with each client and project
  • Maintain client files to effectively follow-up and ensure all opportunities are carried through until completion
  • Focus on client service EXCELLENCE as you service and grow existing accounts and develop new accounts
  • Work closely with suppliers to be technically relevant and to ensure equipment and project delivery is timely and on budget
  • Help develop, support, roll-out and/or deliver marketing and promotional strategies
  • Attend conferences and tradeshow and present “lunch and learns”


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years experience successfully selling bulk handling equipment or similar industrial equipment
  • A Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering would be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a territory, identify opportunities, and build relationships with a focus on generating revenue
  • Successfully selling to multiple stakeholders, with a focus on EPC and end users including: Metals, Mining, Grain Processing, Bio-mass, Feed Milling, Chemical, Plastics, Food Processing and Recycling
  • Excellent interpersonal abilities with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Driven, self-motivated with enthusiasm but be able to work within a team
  • Proven mechanical technical aptitude with the a willingness to learn and share
  • Very strong personal organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Working from a home office with the ability to travel 30%-40%


Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package including base of $70K-$90K
  • Commission of an additional $20k-$50K or more (uncapped)
  • A comprehensive medical and dental benefit package
  • Personal vehicle mileage and expenses covered
