The Opportunity

The Senior Director of Business Development is responsible for the leadership and development of the marketing, business development and client service team. This is an exciting opportunity to be a key member of the strategic management team and have a significant impact on the organization and their clients.

Key Responsibilities and Functions

  • Direct management of the business development and service teams (total of 7 direct reports)
  • Develop KPI’s and success plans including defining priorities and department goals and initiatives
  • Preparation of department budgets and annual sales targets including regular progress reporting
  • Working with the business development team to identify new clients and opportunities for increased business
  • Work with client base to ensure that service offerings and service levels meet their needs
  • Foster a team focused and driven sales environment
  • Oversee new business plans and opportunities for the development of new business lines
  • Provide support through the implementation of new business opportunities
  • Other related duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in a senior sales management capacity
  • 7+ years in general business management and/or business development
  • Experience with service sales and comfort with a long sales cycle would be a great asset
  • Relationship focused sales approach
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to assess business needs
  • Experience working in a not-for-profit or public service environment would be an asset
  • Post secondary education in a business focused discipline
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships and trust both internally and externally

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role is $90,000 – $120,000 based on experience and education. A full benefits package including pension contribution, full health and dental benefits, and additional perks will be offered.
