Account Manager

An exciting opportunity exists with a Canadian manufacturer and distributer of cutting edge municipal waterworks equipment. They are experiencing exponential growth and have a very aggressive growth strategy which includes a strong focus on Ontario. You will either have the opportunity to be a driver, a sales leader, or be mentored and developed by some of the most experienced water and wastewater sales professionals in the industry. If you have the drive, ambition, self motivation and desire their hope is that you will become the sales leader of their organization, now or in the near future.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Develop, nurture and maintain close working relationships with the decision-makers including engineering consultants, municipalities, operator/maintenance and contractors focused on water and wastewater throughout Ontario.
  • Identify, qualify and secure sales opportunities for represented products, including the appropriate packaged systems – with a focus on getting specified at the EPC level.
  • Influence and assist in ensuring field installations are properly operated and maintained for the life of the equipment.
  • Coordinate with the manufacturing plant and other factory representatives as well as Product Specialists/Managers to help meet customer’s needs for technical support.
  • Development and implementation of sales strategies and sales forecasts.
  • Meeting and exceeding the client service expectations.
  • Be the educational lead for clients including ‘lunch and learns’, trade shows, providing supporting technical information, and service facility tours.
  • Support inside sales on product selection/application and quotes preparation.
  • Assume leadership role for customer projects within the sales team.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Diploma in Civil Engineering or relevant water and wastewater industry experience.
  • Demonstrated success of a minimum of 3 years selling, supporting sales with a technical knowledge of water and wastewater equipment and projects.
  • Proven ability to be proactive and highly motivated, working with a dynamic team.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills with well developed listening and clarification ability.
  • Strong business, strategic planning, and account management skills or aptitude.
  • Focused on excellence in client service.
  • Great negotiation skills.
  • Analytical skills to break down complex issues and solve problems.
  • Driven to succeed with a positive attitude!

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base Salary of $60k-$80k, or more with the right experience, which you could more than DOUBLE with market penetration
