The Opportunity

Our client is in need of a Transportation Construction Inspector to work on a variety of Alberta Transportation highway projects in and around the province of Alberta. This person will be inspecting the construction progress that will include; ensuring all materials and procedures are adhered to with specifications, reviewing contracts and compliance, and completing site inspections for quality control.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Responsible for site inspections of transportation projects for quality control.
  • Provide problem resolution and field solutions for any unforeseen construction issues.
  • Liaison to all stakeholders involved with the construction activities.
  • Issue stop work orders when required.
  • Ensure compliance of safety policies and procedures on construction sites.
  • Prepare cost estimates and take offs.
  • Participate in construction progress meetings.
  • Complete documentation of construction site activities; which include, field progress reports, daily diaries, survey checks, photo logs and any other required.
  • Assist with preparation of contract documents and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence of provincial standards, technical specifications and engineering design.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Based in Edmonton or Calgary.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in municipal/civil engineering construction.
  • Excellent verbal communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Team player and collaborative, with a positive approach.
  • Strong Microsoft Office is required.
  • Valid Alberta driver’s license in good standing, with access to a personal vehicle.


Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary is dependent on experience.
