The Opportunity

Our client, a small oil and gas services company, is looking for a part-time Accountant to join their team! This role has potential to become full-time as things ramp up with the company! If you are looking for complete flexibility in your schedule, read on.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Prepare general ledger and supporting accounts within financial system.
  • Receive, input and code invoices in AP system for approval.
  • Prepare accounts payable files and process payments for signing and distribution.
  • Review and manage joint-interest billings received from joint-venture partners.
  • Record all receivables and payables, including revenues and joint-interest billings, and maintain a detailed register of such accounts.
  • Reconcile all accounts and prepare quarterly and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and performance to Budget / Variance analysis.
  • Maintain financial records and filing.
  • Review Monthly Statements to ensure everything is correct and in line with budget.
  • Prepare limited monthly financial reports to include Trial Balance, aged AP/AR, GL and other reports as required by the VP Finance.
  • Produce GL report for specific accounts monthly.
  • Prepare Quarterly unaudited financial statements for review and approval by the VP Finance.
  • Prepare annual audited financial statements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong computer skills, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of Accounting principles and standards for Oil and Gas.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience.
  • Familiar with Pandell Software preferred, Energylink.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary is between $55,000 – $60,000 K depending on education and experience.
