The Opportunity

We are Currently looking for Payroll Team Lead to join a dynamic and growing team in downtown Calgary. This individual will be is responsible for the supervision of Payroll Administrators and ensuring timely and accurate payroll for all Canadian and US employees.

Key Responsibilities and Functions

  • Ensure accurate payroll for all employees.
  • Develop, document and implement payroll processes.
  • Assist in ensuring employee files are kept up to date.
  • Termination of employees from payroll and processing final payment according to legislative requirements.
  • Oversee plan deductions; new enrollments, changes, and required reporting.
  • Oversee payroll garnishments and applicable payments.
  • Develop and prepare payroll reports for management.
  • Supervise the operation of the Payroll team, ensuring trusted and accurate service is provided.
  • Provide guidance and ensure compliance with applicable federal and provincial/state legislation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of annual income tax forms for all employees.
  • Compile reports from payroll system on a scheduled and adhoc basis.
  • Effectively handle payroll issues in a confidential and timely manner.

Required Experience

  • A minimum 5-7 years’ experience in an intermediate to Senior payroll role.
  • Certificate or diploma in accounting or business administration.
  • US Payroll experience
  • Certification as PCP or CPM.
