Credit and Collections Manager :

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure A/R and Credit policies, practices and processes remain efficient and effective
  • Measure and track daily/monthly performance
  • Contact debtors to collect overdue accounts greater than 90 days in an expedient manner
  • Ensure the personal collections objective is met across team
  • Negotiate payment arrangements with debtors
  • Advise and Adjudicate for when escalation means are necessary
  • Provide thorough, efficient, and accurate account updates on computer files for each call made or received for customers
  • Answer customer and team inquiries and provide information
  • Supervise and mentor Credit Assistant staff, including providing oversight on collection activities
  • Maintain strong relationships with Consumers and team members
  • Advise and collaborate with both internal and external groups regarding the resolution of specific credit and A/R issues
  • Assess credit worthiness of prospective customers and recommend/negotiate credit terms
  • Review customer balances for marginal/high risk exposure and repossessions
  • Perform regular credit monitoring on all consumer accounts
  • Establish and maintain customer database
  • Monitor aging of all receivables and provide A/R reporting and analysis
  • Establish bad debt reserves and minimize debt write offs
  • Maintain the department structure and lead staffing to achieve department
  • Monitor staff and establish professional rapport to ensure proper timeliness of staff
  • Lead and streamline online management of shift rotations and staffing for scheduling purposes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent financial background/diploma preferred
  • CCP designation an asset
  • Minimum 5 – 7 years of progressive experience in credit and collections with supervisory experience
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Sound team building abilities complemented by proven supervisory/management skills
