The Opportunity

Our client in SE Calgary is looking for a Purchaser to join their team! The purchaser will be reporting to the Procurement Manager.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Managing and controlling inventory.
  • Issuing purchase orders to outside suppliers.
  • Reviewing, updating, and maintaining purchase orders until they are closed.
  • Organizing and confirming logistics for all in bound purchase orders.
  • Approving supplier invoices.
  • Tracking orders and confirming lead times, delivery dates, and costs.
  • Developing and preparing reports as needed to reflect the status and performance level. of purchasing activities, vendor progress and other activities.
  • Resolving receiving and invoice discrepancies.
  • Ordering and managing inventory for our third-party warehouse.
  • Ordering and managing inventory for our ecommerce warehouse.
  • Inventory reconciliation.
  • Identifying opportunities and implementing actions to achieve efficiencies.
  • Working closely with all departments to resolve inventory issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12, preferably with relevant post-secondary education.
  • 1 to 2 years of Purchasing/Supply Chain Experience.
  • Attentive, assertive and flexible.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • MS Office skills.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Capacity and willingness for growth.
  • Compensation and Benefits
    • $50,000 – $60,000 a year.
    • 2 weeks vacation.
    • Benefits after 3 months.
