Resource-based provinces will lead the country in average salary increases in the next two years with Alberta projected to be 3.6% followed by Newfoundland at 3.% and Saskatchewan at 3.2%. Canada is projected to see salary increases of 2.9% in 2013. The highest increase expect in 2013 was in oil and gas at 4%, despite a slowdown in investment this year.
In 2014, Newfoundland will lead the country at 4% followed by Saskatchewan at 3.4% and Alberta at 3.2%. Canada is expected to average at 2.6%.
These projections continue to be much lower than the boom prior to the economic downturn of 2008/2009.
