The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager for their Fort Saskatchewan operation. This is a 6-month Contract position. The Project Manager will ensure all resources and partners to the project(s) deliver quality product(s) and service(s) and will deliver a final product that meets or exceeds customer expectations in terms of quality, while delivering a finished product safely, on time and on budget, every time.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Manage any contract changes and client relationships.
  • Determine resources (labour, equipment, materials and processes) required.
  • Develop project completion schedules.
  • Provide leadership in effective financial and functional assessment.
  • High level project coordination and lead monthly project health check meetings with all project stakeholders.
  • Summarize the contract and consult the contracts administrator.
  • Optimize the project planning, organization, and follow up.
  • Prioritize projects to achieve corporate objectives.
  • Provide technical and administrative direction to project team members.
  • Information flow and work coordination between project and customer organizations.
  • Identify the necessary project staff, integrating subcontractors and peers from supporting services.
  • Provide a clear division of tasks between central purchasing & project team to deliver a product that meets contract requirements related to time, money, and quality.
  • Evaluate tenders from the strategic suppliers and subcontractors and make final selection decisions.
  • Follow up the contract review, identify any additional risks and develop action plans to address.
  • Coordination of Engineering Design subcontractors and partners.
  • Bid, RFQ and RFI preparation assistance and coordination.
  • Evaluates successes and opportunities for improvement in the project management process.
  • Integrates necessary changes into future project planning initiatives.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Project Management Certification is considered an asset.
  • Modular Construction experience and Structural Piping background is required.
  • Prior progressive Project Management experience in the oil gas and energy sectors is strongly desired.
  • Microsoft Project and Primavera software expertise is required.
  • Must have strong experience with engineering and constructability design methods, materials and associated manufacturing systems and processes.


Compensation and Benefits

  • 6-month Contract position.
