The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for their Edmonton operations.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Provide technical mentorship and leadership for the Electrical Design and Engineering team, as well as conduct peer reviews.
  • Responsible for being the engineer-of-record on all projects across Alberta and British Columbia.
  • Outline schedules, project budgets and direct the team leads on schedules and project budgets.
  • Design power systems, lighting and lighting controls, data layouts, life-safety, etc.
  • Complete electrical calculations for power density, fault currents, power usage, lighting levels, equipment sizing, etc.
  • Prepare drawings suitable for building permit, tender and construction.
  • Attending field reviews, review shop drawings, preparing site instructions and change orders, review pricing and alternate design options.
  • Coordinate with all stakeholders to provide services and meet their requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer is considered an asset.
  • 5 – 10+ years of previous experience is required.
  • Previous project experience will include: commercial, institutional, light industrial, and residential construction.
  • Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code, BCBC and VBBL is required.
  • Experience with lighting design software is required.
