Our client is seeking an Operations Manager for their pipeline integrity operations based in Edmonton!

The Opportunity
This position is responsible for Canadian-wide activities of their Pipeline Integrity Operations.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the operational business plans and strategy
  • Formulates and manages departmental budget and monitors capital expenditures
  • Supervises direct reports in the management of their assigned field projects
  • Ensures technical proficiency appropriate to meet customer and market requirements
  • Maintains a strong partnership with customers
  • Ensures continuous process improvement within the region in order to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Ensures compliance with reporting protocol and diligent follow-up to identify root cause and establish corrective actions.
  • Responsible for the field operating procedures and quality safety programs to ensure the services provided are in compliance with customer’s standards.
  • Ensures that HSE rules and procedures are followed by all employees in the region and that appropriate guidance and training are provided for services operations
  • Assists in the development of service quality objectives

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ year of direct managerial responsibility including setting objectives and developing operating plans required to achieve desired results.
  • Direct experience in pipeline operations is strongly preferred
  • Degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
  • Strong experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives including: LEAN, Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, with Microsoft Word and Excel knowledge
