The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a Senior Estimator to join its team in Kelowna, Prince George, or Vancouver

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Oversee the development and preparation of estimates or proposals within the estimating department.
  • Provides proven leadership and clear direction to the Estimating team.
  • Develop estimating strategies to ensure they align with company values, goals and objectives.
  • Completing quantity takeoffs, sub trade solicitation; and preparing budgets.
  • Provides preconstruction services from the development of preliminary budgets, and cost plans.
  • Conducts a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications, to determine overall project requirements and identifies any associated risk factors.
  • Completes final cost estimate of a project through the use of software systems
  • Complete detailed take-offs and quantification of work scope as necessary.
  • Interfaces with other business unit departments to ensure proposal deliverables are being supported on timely basis.
  • Ensures the estimating department is working and delivering in accordance with the corporate strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 10+ years of construction estimating experience in civil, infrastructure, commercial, institutional, energy, mining, etc.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in related discipline or trade experience or equivalent.
  • Previous Estimating Leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of a variety contract estimating requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of Heavy Bid and Heavy job is an asset.
