The Opportunity

Exciting south-side HR Generalist opportunity. As part of the HR team, you will be supporting multiple divisions and managers with their front-line HR needs. Build your career and continue to gain valuable Human Resource experience.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Initial stages of recruitment process from career fairs to on-boarding.
  • Directing role-specific training.
  • Conducting exit interviews for hourly employees.
  • Administering recognition programs.
  • On-boarding document administration; payroll, benefits, attendance recording, personnel files, filing.
  • Creating and updating policies.
  • Providing a link between plant managers and corporate HR.
  • Notifying employees with periodical company newsletter and imperative messages.
  • Keeping training and evaluation records up to date and notifying managers when recertification is required.
  • Develop and sustain monthly HR reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Consummate HR professional comfortable in dealing with a diverse group of employees.
  • Must have 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
  • Preference will be given to experience in a unionized industrial environment.
  • Solid understanding of provincial and federal employment legislation and regulations.
  • Previous proven successful recruitment and selection experience.
  • Strong time management skills, able to multitask ensuring a high level of accuracy.
  • Post Secondary education specializing in Human Resources Management.
