The Opportunity

Our enterprise client is in the midst of implementing Agile methodology in it’s business systems department and is accordingly building it’s DevOps team. They are looking for a Senior DevOps with experience in deployment automation, implementation and a solid DevOps understanding. Ideally this individual has experience in department moving to agile style development and is comfortable working during this change management period. This is a great opportunity to make a large impact on a prominent Edmonton organization.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Work in a DevOps team in the transformation from Waterfall to Agile methodology.
  • Create, test and implement automated deployment pipelines for cloud and onsite using Agile.
  • Define standards and processes in an agile framework.
  • Build upon, improve and fine tune existing automated build and release processes.
  • Work closely with the SCRUM team on design, tests and implementation strategies.
  • Hands on development & product testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of related university degree program. Other post secondary education plus experience may be considered.
  • Previous experience through the transformation of Waterfall to Agile methodology.
  • 3+ years experience with continuous integration/deployment.
  • Experience working with platform automation tools (i.e. Ansible, Chef).
  • 3+ years experience working with web technologies, unit testing frameworks, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, GIT, Visual Studio Team Services and SQL Server.
  • Experience in designing, implementing and supporting virtual environment (VMWare, MS Azure and Windows Server).
  • Expert knowledge with IPs, firewalls and load balancing
  • Outstanding written and verbal skills.
  • ITIL certification.
  • Experience working in an insurance and/or financial institution preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Up to $80,000 depending on experience.
  • A comprehensive benefits package will be provided.
