Accounts Receivable opportunity in SE Calgary with construction experience!!

The Opportunity

Our Client is looking for a person to join their Finance team in Accounts Receivable. This is not a conventional Accounts Receivable position; their invoices and procedures are complex, unique and high in volume. The ability to critically analyze what you are doing and have the confidence to challenge status quo, while being open and receptive to team mate challenge is a must.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Knowledge of U.S. State, and Provincial taxes
  • Preparation, analysis, and delivery of Customer Statements
  • Prepare, allocate and post Customer’s Cash Receipts
  • Follow up with Customer’s past due accounts
  • Respond to Customer’s requests and resolve any issues in a timely matter
  • Prepare excel spreadsheets as needed or requested
  • Process Invoices, Credit Memo’s, Debit Memo’s, and Journal Entries
  • Set up and Maintain Customer Accounts
  • Progress Billing

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous 3-5 years full cycle accounting – a must
  • Experience with construction or manufacturing companies is a huge asset
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy – if your application is not correct, this might not be a strength
  • Ability to work independently – can move things forward without being hand-held
  • Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook – a must
  • Superior customer service, and organizational skills
  • Ability to review large amounts of information, quickly, and efficiently
  • Excellent written, and verbal communications skills
  • Knowledge of Sage 500 accounting system would be considered an asset
