Assistant Controller

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for someone to join their team. This individual will report directly into the Controller and assist in overseeing the entire accounting process.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Knowledge and understanding of payroll remittance.
  • Excellent understanding and experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reporting, general ledger adjustments, capital asset reconciliation and transactions.
  • Month-end procedures, including monthly bank reconciliations, journal entries and reconciliations for all accounts.
  • Cost accounting.
  • Experience with financial reporting, income statements and balance sheets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in accounting or finance.
  • 5+ years of Accounting experience.
  • Must have excellent computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Navision an asset.
  • Perusing an accounting designation or recently received an accounting designation an asset.
  • Attention to detail with the ability to roll-up the sleeves, while not losing sight of the big picture.
  • Continuous learning with an eagerness to expand knowledge.
  • PST experience is an asset.
  • Intercompany billing, transactions and reconciliations.
