The Opportunity

Our south side client, a busy and growing IT Manage Service Provider, has an immediate need to bring on an Business Development Representative overseeing outside sales to drive business development and increase business. This role requires a true hunter who loves meeting prospective clients in person and getting to know their unique business needs. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years previous experience in outside sales, an established book of business of serviceable clients to draw from and an interest at matching technical solutions to business objectives.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Prospect new clients and bring in new business through cold calls, door to door and follow up.
  • Foster relationships with prospects through learning about their business.
  • Sell customized managed services packages tailored to meet business objectives, needs and challenges.
  • Participate with pricing on packages for clients.
  • Work closely with pre-sales team on exploratory and presales meetings.
  • Identify and build networks in new industries that can leverage services.
  • Identify new services, products and distribution channels for increasing sales.
  • Documentation of daily activities and complete weekly reports summarizing activities, trends and forecasts.
  • Assist in proposals and bids.
  • Stay on top of market and competition trends to offer comparisons, highlight differentiators, act on unique selling propositions and inform campaigns.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of post secondary program in related field.
  • 2+ years business development/outside sales/ B2B experience.
  • Cold calling and door to door experience.
  • Excellent, well rounded verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid business acumen and interest at exploring technical solution to business problems.
  • Self directed and a self starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Dedication to providing updates and documenting activities to keep in house employees up to date on sales activity.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Must have driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary plus commission.
  • A comprehensive benefits package will be provided.
