Employee Relations Coordinator required for a three to four month temporary assignment starting as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity as this role has a wide range of responsibilities. The Employee Relations Coordinator will provide support in various areas.

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an Employee Relations Coordinator for a three to four month temporary assignment. The Employee Relations Coordinator is highly administrative but would have expertise in the benefits administration, compensation, recruitment, training/organizational development, performance management, employee relations, labour relations, and health and safety.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Responsible for benefits administration; health and benefits plans
  • Processing compensation requests
  • Creation of job descriptions in accordance with collective agreement and standards
  • Participating in full cycle recruitment
  • Analyzing training needs and developing training programs as needed
  • Drafting appropriate documentation for terminations while ensuring they are within the statutory standards
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons of termination
  • Attend collective bargaining sessions and taking minutes of the committee
  • Attending and preparing for meeting of JOSH committee
  • Managing claims; including investigating and reporting to insurance companies and WorkSafe BC
  • Tracking and recording mandatory health and safety training

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Ha s or working towards a CHRP designation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Superior organization and administration skills
  • Strong computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Must be willing to obtain enhanced security clearance
  • 2 years of post-secondary education or equivalent education and experience in a related field
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources would be considered an asset

Compensation and Benefits

  • $21.50/hour
