My client is seeking a Field Operations Forman with a background in operated and non-operated sour gas production, living in the Edson area.

The Opportunity

The Field Operations Foreman will report into the Area Superintendent. The role is based out of the Edson field office and requires travel to the camp and field on a regular basis. The camp is 30 minutes from Nordegg and 90 minutes from Edson. The properties are located near Stolberg, Brown Creek and Chungo.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Lead the Field Operations team to achieve high performance and engagement.
  • Create schedule, execution, and documentation of maintenance activity.
  • Ensure the team is meeting Key Performance Indicators, including: asset integrity programs, spills and release reporting, management of change documentation, process safety initiatives, audit actions, site specific operating procedures, and risk register management.
  • Work closely with other district leaders, the Gas Control team, Production Engineers, and 3rd party producers to maximize net income, reduce costs and increase production reliability.
  • Responsible for cost forecasting and budgeting with a focus on maintenance spend and labour optimization.
  • Conduct site inspections.
  • Conduct incident investigations and hold safety meetings.


Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Must reside within 50km of Edson, Alberta
  • 8+ years’ experience in Field Operations.
  • Excellent understanding of sour gas operations (operated and non-operated) with a focus on compression and pipelines.
  • Good experience in oil and gas operations.
  • Prior experience with control rooms.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Certification in H2S alive, First Aid, ground disturbance and confined space is required.
  • Strong knowledge of AER requirements, EPAP and Directives 17, 55 and 60.
