Fantastic Opportunity for a Finance Manager in Toronto!

The Opportunity

Located right in Downtown Toronto, the Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting, internal control, budgeting and forecasting, contract management and other operational financially oriented matters. The person in this role is the key focal point for support to the business leaders. The position reports directly to the Managing Director, to ensure the business runs smoothly and the client facing side of the business receives all necessary support, in the most appropriate, consistent and cost effective way.
As the Tax and Accounting Manager you are member of the local Senior Management team and are expected to pro-actively take part in strategic discussions with regard to growth and opportunities.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Financial reporting including the monthly and quarterly financial close.
  • Financial reporting packages delivered to country management and parent company reporting.
  • Communication of results to parent company.
  • Finance and Accounting Procedures Manual.
  • Systems of internal control over invoicing and accounts receivable including software design and implementation.
  • Intercompany charges and other transactions.
  • Oversight of third party bookkeeping and payroll firm.
  • Budgeting and forecasting (operational results and cashflow).
  • Cost of sales and revenue share calculations and discussions with contracted retailers.
  • Contract management.
  • Review and approval of accounting and payroll production documents and work as required.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of client systems of internal control.
  • Develop and maintain Company policies, procedures, production standards.
  • Recommend and implement improvements of job work flow.
  • Drive operational change and performance improvement.
  • Acts as escalation point and resolve financial issues.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • CPA accreditation is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post accreditation accounting and/or tax experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting packages and compliance.
  • Critical attention to detail and accuracy is an absolute must.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • Works well under pressure, comfortable multitasking managing deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal relationships and capacity to influence efficiently at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated computer skills and past experience with using email and Microsoft Office in a business setting.

  • Compensation and Benefits
  • $80,000 – $90,000 a year.
  • Comprehensive benefit package will be offer.
