Our client in downtown Calgary is looking for a Financial Analyst with strong financial modeling and oil and gas experience to join their team! This role will be reporting Directly to the CFO and CEO.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions Building financial models using historical data and providing forecasts based on various industry-related operating metrics. Recommending and Implementing process for improvements to budget and prepare forecast for company. Identifying the key financial and non-financial risks, recommending actions for mitigation of those risks. Applying appropriate sensitivity and scenario analysis to support investment actions. Updating financial models during earnings seasons and following corporate actions. Responsible for financial planning and analysis including management reporting, budgeting and forecasting; facilitating and challenging assumptions and key business drivers. Responsible for designing financial models, scenarios and sensitivities for complex projects with a strong understanding of key performance indicators, volumetric data and their relationship with industry and market trends. Develop business relationships and foster two-way communication with internal stakeholders, Operations, and Corporate Reporting groups.
Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business or Commerce or related field. 3+ years of experience. Detailed analytical abilities. Excellent writing, grammar and proofreading skills. Advanced Excel skills. Strong experience in financial modeling. Ability to communicate effectively with top level executives (internal and external). Ability to organize, prioritize and effectively follow-through on tasks in a fast-paced changing environment. Ability to work independently, take initiative and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality. Strong leadership skills. Ability to apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving.
Compensation and Benefits Salary is between $70,000 and $80,000 a year. 4 weeks vacation with benefits.
