The Opportunity

The Group Rentals Manager will be responsible for supervising a team and developing controls, processes and systems.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Acts as the catalyst to improve performance of the division by streamlining internal processes and drive consistency.
  • Monitor and analyze ongoing rental sales activities against yearly targets.
  • Oversee rental operations ensuring correct, accurate billing and correct product availability and delivery is maintained.
  • Ensures all rental problems listed by the customers are addressed according to company policy and practice to maintain positive company/customer relationships. Effectively resolves any customer disputes brought forward by staff to achieve customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Develops and maintains adequate systems and procedures to provide a measure of efficiency of the department. Establishes and directs paper flow for quotations, insurance company requests, rental agreements, project rentals, customer invoicing, purchase requisitions and payables, and management reports.
  • Overall management of procurement and specing of new capital equipment as well as repair or replacement of existing equipment.
  • Provides proactive leadership and management of all staff resources within Rental Departments to maintain a functional department in line with overall department forecasts and company policies.
  • Manage, train and mentor Fleet Manager, Rental Account Managers and all other rental staff. Identify and manage necessary staffing levels to achieve department’s objectives.
  • Creates and develops department’s annual Marketing and Business Development Plan. Assesses and makes changes as necessary to divisional strategy to maintain market-adopted service policy.
  • Call on potential and existing customers, prospects and businesses to develop new relationships/partnerships to introduce all product lines as a viable long term business partner focusing on long term and major accounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Business administration/marketing or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 5 + years medium duty or heavy-duty truck rental experience is required.
  • Prior supervisory/management in rental or related industry environment preferred.
  • Outside and inside business to business sales experience preferred.
  • Previous profit and loss and budgetary responsibility.
  • Hands on fleet management and operations experience.
  • Valid class 5 Drivers License, Class 8 license an asset.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills in order to work with wide number of people, including peers, subordinates, and other company departments and staff.
  • Strong customer service attitude and leadership to ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Effective negotiation, persuasion, and listening skills to facilitate successful resolution of concerns.

Compensation and Benefits
