The Opportunity

Our Ft. Saskatchewan client is looking for an experienced HR Advisor to join their team. The ideal candidate should have experience working with various building trades collective agreements and have a strong labor relations background. To succeed in this position, you must be goal-oriented, self-sufficient and be able to adapt to shifting priorities.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Primary liaison between employees/managers regarding performance management, career development, compensation, pension and other employee relations matters.
  • Responsible for full-cycle recruiting including pre-screening, interviewing, reference checking and onboarding.
  • Provides HR guidance to management and employees on interpretation of policies and collective agreements.
  • Responsible for benefit administration including extended health and RRSP program.
  • Conducts investigations including creation of investigation plans, performing interviews and making recommendations.
  • Other HR duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Min. 5 years’ experience in a related role.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Experience working with various building trades collective agreements
  • Strong understanding of the LMIA processes, rules and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly pay rate will commensurate with experience.
