The Opportunity

Our client located in SW Calgary is seeking some additional help on their Human Resources team! This short contract role requires a Human Resources professional who is adaptable and quick to pick things up!
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Provide guidance, advice and coaching to client group leaders on the full spectrum of core HR services, practices and talent management initiatives.
  • Partner with management in the development and implementation of strategies that support the development, engagement and retention of employees.
  • Participate in client strategy/planning meetings. Ensuring the appropriate people planning impacts and considerations are accounted for.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to management and employees to effectively address workplace issues.
  • Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, support the development of job requirements and descriptions and actively guide recruitment.
  • Analyze and identify issues and trends within the client groups and support/lead resolution.
  • Collaboratively work with the HR team to inform them of business issues/priorities and help formulate solutions, ensuring effective HR service delivery. Contribute and collaborate on the development of programs and services to meet business requirements.
  • Implement and influence change in partnership with the business.
  • Lead and assist in special projects as identified by HR goals or business initiatives.
  • Conduct research, analyze data and provide recommendations to enhance or streamline HR processes, procedures, practices and there application.
  • Develop new programs, policies, and solutions to support client needs and ensure consistent and appropriate implementation.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma with 8 -10 years’ experience.
  • CPHR Designation required.
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Standards/Labour Law, Change Management, Recruitment, Employee Relations, Performance Improvement, Resource Planning and Total Rewards.
  • Commitment to professionalism, teamwork and customer service. Reputation for being sought out as a strong contributor and partner, with a track record of results.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem solving skills along with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and conditions, adjust pace of work and ability to navigate ambiguity. Proven flexibility to remain focused on solutions.
  • Proven internal consulting and influencing skills including summary of discussion, negotiation of delivery parameters and follow up.
  • HR experience gained working on complex HR initiatives and day to day business interactions with various client groups including senior management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the development and administration of large scale project HR policies, practices and procedures.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Some travel may be required.
