The Opportunity

Our east side client is looking to grow their legal department by hiring a Manager for Legal Writers. The successful individual oversees the team of legal writers, drafts & amends various legal documents and analyzes & researches legal matters. If you are a people person that love writing and adapting documents with a strong background in law, we want to hear from you!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Lead and mentor a team of legal writers.
  • Draft, edit and revise various libraries of legal documents and contracts.
  • Research & analyze legal issues and statements.
  • Plan and prioritize projects for the team of legal writers.
  • Collaborate with various business units.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Law and a valid membership of the Alberta Law Society or other law society.
  • 5-10 years experience in drafting legal documents and legal research.
  • 5-10 years experience in contract law, business law or real estate law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to simplify the legal language.
  • Interest in e-commerce.
  • Bilingual in French or German is a bonus!
