The Opportunity

A Canadian leader in Instrumentation and Process Equipment, focusing on the “Muni” market, is laying the strategic foundation for a new growth phase. They need Sales Leadership with operational skills to manage their GTA branch. They have range diverse process application opportunities across a broad range of industries with a municipal focus. You will have a great time working for a dynamic/supportive Executive, at a progressive company with one of the best product lines available in the market. As the Sales and Operations Manager, you will lead, mentor and manage a great team of applications/instrumentation engineers, inside sales and warehouse professionals while supporting the Outside Sales team. You will be treated as the dynamic, self-motivated Professional that your experience and track record warrants

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Exercises sound motivational people management skills along with robust planning and organizational expertise to consistently deliver great customer service and quality product directed at the Municipal and Industrial and Water and Wastewater markets in Ontario.
  • Provides oversight of, and direction in the continuous improvement of Sales and Delivery systems and processes founded in ISO, Kaizen and/or Lean style principles.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement in decision-making, fully aligned with the Values & Vision, and supports achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Passionate about building high-performing teams and creates an environment focused on operational and customer service excellence, including:
  • Responsible for maintaining effective operational controls and appropriate internal control safeguards while ongoing development, reviews of operational guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Leads through motivational principles founded in the engagement and empowering of the team.
  • Communicates – through action – a clear vision of business philosophy, goals and objectives; gathers and incorporates feedback through direct and indirect methods to ensure a clear understanding of expectations is achieved.
  • Periodically reviews people development, assessment and succession plans and supports progress towards defined goals.
  • Supports sales by ensuring that delivery efficiencies are identified before and after a sale and in creating agreements that ensure clarity, set expectations and drive Customer Happiness.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of people management experience from a technical mechanical and or instrumentation sales organization.
  • Technical sales of fluid management/Handling to the Industrial and Municipal markets in Ontario of a minimum of 3 years
  • Strong knowledge of the Municipal Water and Wastewater within Ontario
  • Developed Water and Wastewater contacts at, Municipalities, Contractors, Engineers, etc.
  • Proven leadership of both technical sales people and the shop personnel.
  • Can develop and maintain performance driven programs and environment of customer service excellence.
  • Ultimate team player and leader!

Compensation and Benefits

  • A base salary of $80,000 – $110,000 per year or more depending on experience.
  • A bonus that should be an additional 20% – 40% or more.
  • Excellent and comprehensive benefit package with RSP matching.
  • Generous vehicle allowance, and expenses will be covered.
