Our client is seeking an experienced leader for their Grande Prairie location!

The Opportunity

Reporting to the COO, the Operations Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Branch.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Overall responsibility for successful execution of all active construction projects and ongoing operations for the branch
  • Supports sales efforts by supplying subject matter expertise in sales pursuits
  • Provide operational factors for strategy and execution of strategic initiatives
  • Ensures the optimization of resources across project portfolio
  • Coordinates cooperation between project execution teams and support services
  • Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and supports and contributes to continual process evaluation and improvement
  • Review and discuss project specifications, contract documents, drawings, job cost coding, and labour rates with estimator. Clarify ambiguities with project estimator as required.
  • Communicate project specifications, scope of work, and job specifics to supervisory staff.
  • Procure materials, labour, and equipment as required.
  • Conduct site visits and/or site measure ups as required.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of provincial/territorial labour standards, Workers’ Compensation Board, OH&S, and company safety policies to assure compliance with provincial/territorial and company requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct Operations Management experience.
  • 10+ experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • Business related post-secondary degree is an asset.
  • Education in Project Management methodology, PMP certification is an asset.
  • Must be able to pass A & D test.
  • Successful candidate must reside in Grande Prairie, or be willing to relocate to.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
