The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a positive, self-motivated, skilled and highly driven Payroll Supervisor with our well-established client in the West end of Edmonton. If you are detailed, driven, highly organized, task oriented, passionate about providing exceptional customer service, and have US payroll processing experience, then we want to hear from you!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Process US and Canadian payroll.
  • Supervisor the payroll processing of the weekly/bi-weekly union/non-union employees.
  • Understand and implement collective bargaining agreements.
  • Full cycle in-house payroll, including T-4s, W2s, and ROEs.
  • Administer the remittances of union payments garnishments and source deductions.
  • Balance payroll general ledger accounts.
  • Respond to employee and management payroll related inquiries.
  • Lead various payroll duties and provide recommendations for improving processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-6 years progressively responsible experience processing high volume payroll, while providing team leadership.
  • Minimum one-year experience processing US payroll, including all payroll tax filings
  • CPM certification.
  • Experience working within a unionized, manufacturing or construction industry.
  • Solid knowledge of regulatory compliance.
  • Above average ability to prioritize and maintain accuracy while adhering to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
