Plant Manager – Wood Treatment Facility


Multi-talented, experienced, hands-on plant manager needed for busy wood treatment plant in Prince George, B.C. Responsible for a large team of production and support personnel.


Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Human Resources – Hiring, managing and scheduling production staff for staggered shifts.
  • Training and Performance reviews, disciplinary measures when required.
  • Write processes and procedures, enforce and train for a variety of plant roles.
  • Responsible for product quality control of the plant.
  • Manage workflow and communications, responsible for production planning and output.
  • Manage all safety and environmental standards and reporting.
  • Plant inspections and maintenance of equipment and inventory.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Min. of 8 years of related experience in a production management capacity, preferably in lumber or chemical production plant.
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma is strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • It is expected that this manager will be on the plant floor about 70% of the time.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety standards.
  • Strong communications skills both written and oral, advanced coaching and presentation skills.
  • Solid understanding and aptitude with Microsoft Office Suite of products with emphasis on Excel.
  • Ability to travel to the U.S. for training and/or corporate events.
  • Process improvement training an asset.
  • The plant is open 24/7. Applicants should be accessible as needed.
