The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Pressure Safety Valve Supervisor. The supervisor is responsible for the field and shop valve technicians and all valve products for the Red Deer location.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Assign valve technicians tasks and ensure those tasks are completed on time and accurately.
  • Oversee valve servicing procedures to ensure that they are completed in accordance with company and legislative requirements.
  • Ensure all work orders are filled out in accordance with customer and company requirements.
  • Prepare and accurately compose all paperwork prior to billing.
  • Regulate inventory levels for existing and future customers.
  • Implement quality control and address any issues with valve servicing: PRD, actuation, and basic machining.
  • Hold toolbox meetings with shop floor staff to effectively communicate projects and priorities.
  • Mentor, develop and train staff; conduct training courses.
  • Participate in audits in shop, both customer and jurisdictional.
  • Assist in the development of written procedures and processes.
  • Research and stay current on the latest valve services.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory position is required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Mechanical aptitude; previous experience with PSV and ANSI/API valve servicing is considered an asset.
  • High standard and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Maintain a positive team environment, strong mentorship skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Individual will be required to work into an on-call rotation.
  • Post-secondary education or vocation training is considered an asset.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
