4-month Temporary contract, with potential to go permanent, for a production accountant with gas experience!

The Opportunity

Our client, in downtown Calgary, is looking for a junior to intermediate production accountant to join their team! This individual will be Reporting to the Controller, the incumbent is responsible for monthly tasks including production, revenue and royalty accounting for operating and non-operated properties and ensuring compliance with the government. This position will work closely with the Senior Production Accountant and Production Engineers to ensure data is accurate. For the right candidate this four-month contract can turn into a full-time position.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Gather and analyze production data and confirm pipeline splits.
  • Utilize Metrix to upload well tests, sales and inventories.
  • Prepare splits and communicate with partners.
  • Submit volumetric, SAFOAF, APMC and other related reports to Petrinex.
  • Create journal entries and analyze revenue, royalties, processing charges and trucking expenses to ensure accuracy.
  • Masterfile setup in Metrix.
  • Interpret data, analyze results, monitor variances, and identify trends to generate reports for management.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Accounting or Business Administration and working knowledge of Management Information Systems would be an asset.
  • CAPPA certificate.
  • 2-5 years of operated production accounting experience.
  • Experience with the following applications: Metrix, Petrinex, Pandell, and Production Manager.
  • Knowledge of Alberta operated and non-operated properties.
  • Solid problem-solving, analytical and operational accounting experience.
  • Ability to think independently and proactively.
