The Opportunity

One of Canada’s largest mining and land reclamation contractors in the oil sands today is seeking a Civil Project Manager to join their operations in Fort McMurray! The Civil Project Manager will be responsible for the delivery and management of one or multiple large civil and mining projects. This will be a Fly in – Fly out schedule with camp accommodations provided, with a rotation of 14×7. Local candidates are welcome to apply!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Review, monitor, and supervise sub-contractors, engineering, procurement and any other job-related activities.
  • Resolve any problems that occur throughout the construction project, including but not limited to: procurement, tender processes, contract negotiations, scheduling, financial/budgeting, equipment, manpower, quality, safety standards and commissioning.
  • Supervises and coordinates job site activities with site Superintendents and site Project Coordinators.
  • Prepares and reviews reports on progress, materials used, and costs, and adjusts work schedules as indicated by reports in a lump sum environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 – 15 years of construction experience in the mining and heavy civil construction industry.
  • Professional Engineer designation is considered an asset.
