Our client is seeking a Safety Coordinator for their Edmonton-based manufacturing shop!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Responsible for designing and implementing a COR certified safety program which ensures compliance to all applicable legislation.
  • Lead the Investigation of incident events to prevent future occurrence.
  • Manage shop employee training matrix and coordinate training programs.
  • Coordinate safety presentations, inspections, and meetings.
  • Work with production employees to develop hazard assessments and review with employees.
  • Assist in new hire orientation.
  • Review leading and lagging performance indicators, evaluate trends.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience successfully managing a COR certified safety program for small to medium sized manufacturing environment.
  • MSO or NCSO certification is strongly desired.
  • Working knowledge or awareness of standards found in COR recognition
  • Experience with ISNet and related databased in considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the Millwright and Machinist trades duties and applications.
  • Experience with OHSAS 18001 would be considered an asset, but not required
  • Strong verbal communication is desired
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, word processing and spreadsheet applications.
