The Opportunity

Our client is a leading manufacturer of commercial/residential building products. An enthusiastic and energetic manager is needed to oversee occupational health and safety process as well as a wide variety of office and administration duties. Reporting to the Operations Manager in the Calgary branch office/manufacturing facility with responsibility for OH&S for all branches, you will find this a professionally challenging, but friendly, place to work.
Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Take ownership of Occupational Health and Safety matters for the organization.
  • Oversee development of appropriate best practices for branches in Alberta and Saskatchewan.
  • Develop procedures and practices to improve workplace safety.
  • Document procedures and develop database.
  • Manage any safety-related documentation and/or incidents.
  • This role may eventually evolve into some responsibilities for training.
  • Additional administrative tasks as needed. These may include, but are not limited to:
    • Accounting/Bookkeeping assistance.
    • WCB and insurance claims management.
    • Process improvement initiatives.
    • General office administration (filing, date entry, etc).
    • Training and skills development projects.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 3 years previous experience as a safety officer or related role.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
  • Presentation and training experience.
  • Experience in developing and disseminating Health and Safety documentation.
  • Lean/ISO/Continuous Process Improvement training is an asset.
  • Ability to travel to regional branches as needed.

  • Compensation and Benefits
  • A Salary of $40-45,000 is being offered, along with benefits. Business hours: Monday-Friday.
