The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a Shipper for their South side operation! The Shipper will be responsible for the organization of inventory in the storage facility and will process incoming and outgoing shipments in compliance with company standards.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Coordinate all shipments between company departments and all internal and external customers and vendors.
  • Maintain an exceptionally organized, accurate and secure inventory of shipping materials and supplies in storage facility.
  • Verify and record incoming and outgoing shipments and prepare items for shipment.
  • Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
  • Communicate with clients and third-party centers on inventory fulfillment/PO generation.
  • Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and compares against documentation provided by field services, QC, etc.
  • Compare identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures incoming/outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records.
  • Investigate and identify causes of shipping problems/errors, taking corrective action to prevent future occurrences.
  • Arrange trucking to ship supplies or equipment to local and international destinations.
  • Process material transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Maintain a high level of safety focus.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Team player, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail oriented and precise record keeping abilities.
  • Mechanically inclined; previous experience in valve, actuation and valve control needs, whether it be the Energy, Mining, Pulp & Paper or Industrial Sector is considered an asset.
  • Must be able to perform heavy lifting of 50 lbs+.
  • Previous experience in shipping and receiving.
