The Opportunity

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Conducts research and analysis and preparation of extensive/comprehensive Board Meeting Agendas and Meeting Minutes.
  • Assists with developing and managing the Board’s short and long-term business plans, ensuring that timelines are met, and the Board’s deliverables are completed professionally and proactively.
  • Assists in the management of the Board and committees’ governance processes.
  • Works with the Plan Board Manager, service providers and external advisors to conduct or coordinate reviews of emerging policy issues affecting legislation, plan design, plan administration and plan investments.
  • Oversees office coordination and business processes, including expense claims, budget reviews, invoices and accruals.
  • Other related responsibilities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree with a minimum of 2 years of directly-related experience.
  • Experience in overseeing the preparation of agendas and taking minutes in a large organization or for a board of trustees.
  • Experience in government including legislation and regulations an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and client service skills with the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups of people, and to act with tact and diplomacy at all times.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Advanced research skills with the ability to summarize and paraphrase complex issues, and to classify and organize information into presentation materials.
  • Ability to work as part of a small team with a diverse Board in a fast-paced, professional environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range is approximately up to $65,000 plus per year; based on level of experience. Comprehensive benefits included too!
